Jennifer Tosti-Kharas Appointed Camilla Latino Spinelli Endowed Term Chair

Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior Jennifer Tosti-Kharas has been appointed the Camilla Latino Spinelli Endowed Term Chair, beginning in the 2023–2024 academic year.

Tosti-Kharas joined Babson’s Management Division in 2015. Her research explores career development, focusing on meaningful work, and work as a calling. She is the author of the forthcoming book Is Work Worth It? (to be published by PublicAffairs), and her research has appeared in top peer-reviewed journals, such as the Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, and Personnel Psychology.

Tosti-Kharas has been recognized for her teaching and service at Babson. She has been a Babson Research Scholar, received a Babson Faculty Scholarship award in 2021, has served as chair on the Faculty Senate Executive Committee, as well as on Babson’s Institutional Review Board. She also was the recipient of the Graduate School Excellence in Service Award in 2018.

The endowed term chair was made possible by the generosity of an anonymous donor in honor of Camilla Latino Spinelli, the mother of Babson President Stephen Spinelli Jr. MBA’92, PhD. Camilla Latino Spinelli was a self-motivated scholar, completing a GED, and raised first-generation scholars who collectively went on to earn four bachelor’s, six master’s, and two doctorate degrees. The anonymous donor wishes to recognize the immense contributions and sacrifices that families and supporters make, as well as the impact that those first-generation scholars make on society as a whole.

“As the inaugural recipient of this endowed term chair, Professor Jen Tosti-Kharas’ impactful scholarship and service fits the tribute to first-generation scholars and their families and supporters, and Babson’s steadfast commitment to promote and foster personal and professional growth of all learners,” wrote Ken Matsuno, the Murata Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, in announcing the appointment.
