Babson Team Places 13th at Rotman International Trading Competition

Babson College placed 13th out of 37 leading international universities at the 2026 Rotman International Trading Competition in Toronto. Babson has an impressive track record, including winning the competition in 2009 and placing second in 2007 and 2010. More recently, the team placed sixth in 2024 and seventh in 2025.

Sponsored by the Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance, the Babson team was comprised of Wenqi (Owen) Fu ‘26, Krishang Goyal ‘26, Monu Chouhan MSF ‘26, and Shuxing (Gareth) Yang MSF ’26, and supported by faculty advisor Ryan Davies.

The Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) is an annual event that brings teams of students and their faculty advisors from universities worldwide to participate in a unique two-day simulated market challenge. Each case involved building and calibrating complex models in Python, along with several weeks of intense preparation.

The competition includes teams from leading universities, with the top five teams coming from Baruch College, University of Warsaw, LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome, University College Dublin, and Chulalongkorn University.
