Ten retiring faculty members with nearly 200 years of combined service to Babson College were recognized during Commencement ceremonies May 17.

“I am proud to share special thanks and recognition on behalf of our academic community to our retiring faculty members who have spent decades as educators, colleagues, mentors, and friends,” said Donna Stoddard P’21 ’25, Babson’s dean of faculty and a professor of information technology management. “Together, these faculty have brought a combined 191 years of experience and thought leadership to the classroom, teaching our students, serving in academic leadership roles, and leading through their research and scholarship. As exemplary colleagues, you will be missed.”

Gordon, professor in the Operations and Information Management Division, is the longest-serving faculty member to retire, having spent the past 39 years at Babson after arriving in September 1986. His most recent research has focused on blockchains and cryptocurrencies, digital platforms, and the role of information systems in supporting social movements.
