Babson College Selected as NFTE’s 2022 Corporate Volunteer of the Year

Babson College has been selected as the 2022 Corporate Volunteer of the Year by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) for NFTE’s New England region.

This is the second time in three years that Babson has been recognized with the NFTE honor. Also, in 2019, Jack McCarthy MBA’82, senior lecturer in organizational behavior at Babson, received the individual NFTE Volunteer of the Year Award.

“It goes without saying that Babson is a standout institution when it comes to supporting our NFTE students and our organization’s mission and vision,” wrote Jennifer Green MBA’08, NFTE’s senior manager of programs for New England.

Through Babson’s partnership with NFTE, students in the College’s Master of Science in Management in Entrepreneurial Leadership (MSEL) graduate program provide coaching and mentoring to local high school students, listening to venture ideas, reviewing business plans, and offering advice and feedback. The MSEL students participate through the Creating Entrepreneurial Leaders course, which is taught by McCarthy and Jennifer Tosti-Kharas, associate professor of organizational behavior.

For Babson students, the collaboration with NFTE provides “powerful opportunities to learn about their own capabilities as leaders in working with high school students in venture launches,” McCarthy said.
