The signs of a new academic year at Babson College repeat every August and September: First-year students move in on campus. Undergraduate students of all kinds return to campus. And, Babson celebrates being named the best college for entrepreneurship.

For the 29th consecutive time, U.S. News & World Report has named Babson College the No. 1 undergraduate school for entrepreneurship

The familiarity of the honor doesn’t dampen the meaning or appreciation for the Babson community. Instead, it’s an annual renewal of the College’s leadership and authority in pioneering the study and teaching of entrepreneurship as an academic pursuit and critical skill in developing generations of entrepreneurial leaders.

The No. 2 College in America: Read more about Babson’s stellar Wall Street Journal ranking in Babson Magazine.

The latest No. 1 ranking from U.S. News & World Report builds on the recent recognitions bestowed on Babson. One year ago this month, The Wall Street Journal ranked Babson the No. 2 Best College in the United States. And, last month, in its inaugural rankings of the best colleges in the nation based on the long-term career success of its alumni, LinkedIn ranked Babson No. 1 in four categories—including the strongest alumni network in the country—and No. 7 overall.

“Our continued role as the flagship for entrepreneurship remains critically important to our mission, strategy, and success,” said Babson President Stephen Spinelli Jr. MBA’92, PhD. “As the early pioneers in entrepreneurship education, we helped the world realize that not only can entrepreneurship be taught, but it must be taught.”

Spinelli shared his gratitude to Babson’s faculty, alumni, students, and staff for continuing to elevate the College’s impact to earn again the No. 1 entrepreneurship ranking. Here is the message that Spinelli shared with the Babson community:

Dear Babson Community,

I am honored to share that Babson has been named the No. 1 undergraduate school for entrepreneurship by U.S. News & World Report for the 29th consecutive time. This impressive recognition again validates our approach to creating entrepreneurial leaders who impact communities everywhere.

In recent years, Babson’s reputation has grown beyond pioneers in business and entrepreneurship education. Rankings from The Wall Street Journal and LinkedIn’s Top Colleges 2025 validate our place as leaders across higher education and elevate us alongside an impressive set of institutional peers.

But make no mistake, our continued role as the flagship for entrepreneurship remains critically important to our mission, strategy, and success. As the early pioneers in entrepreneurship education, we helped the world realize that not only can entrepreneurship be taught, but it must be taught.

For years, many asserted that the entrepreneurial spirit was something that some were born with, and others simply were not. It wasn’t believed that someone could learn to become an entrepreneur. Babson never believed that to be the case, and our commitment to creating generations of entrepreneurs plays a significant role in our growing reputation around the world.

Our continued success in the U.S. News & World Report rankings is noteworthy considering the crowded pantheon of high-level entrepreneurship programs and centers at colleges and universities across the country. We compete in an increasingly competitive market, as others have begun to see the power that entrepreneurship can harness as a catalyst for positive change. The spotlight on entrepreneurship—which is highly positive for higher education and society alike—validates our commitment to advancing entrepreneurial leadership.

Where Babson was the pioneer for the early adoption of entrepreneurship as an academic discipline, we continue to elevate what it means to be an entrepreneur by focusing on the human aspects of our discipline. This commitment to entrepreneurial leadership is building the next generation of values-based, empathetic, iterative, and innovative leaders who are creating solutions to our world’s greatest challenges.

Congratulations to our entire community. Your commitment to entrepreneurship education is the reason we remain No. 1 in our field.

With gratitude,
Steve
