Founded March 9, 2000, with a generous gift from Stephen Cutler MBA’61 and his wife, Alice, the Cutler Center has become a beacon of excellence in the finance world, providing students and faculty with unparalleled resources and opportunities. Over the past 25 years, the center has significantly contributed to shaping the future of finance through its state-of-the-art facilities, innovative programs, and commitment to fostering academic and professional growth.

To mark this milestone, the Cutler Center will launch a crowdfunding campaign March 10,  with the goal of raising $25,000 in honor of 25 years at Babson.

“As the Cutler Center celebrates its 25th anniversary, it remains steadfast in its mission to provide programs and cutting-edge resources that enrich the student learning experience, support faculty research, and engage the alumni community,” said Patrick Gregory, managing director of the Cutler Center and a professor of practice at Babson.

To celebrate its milestone anniversary, the Cutler Center also will host a series of commemorative events throughout the year, including:

  • Anniversary Gala: A grand celebration bringing together alumni, faculty, industry partners, and current students to honor the center’s legacy and future will take place during Back to Babson in October.
  • Distinguished Speaker Series: Featuring prominent leaders in finance, sharing their insights and experiences with the Cutler Center community.
  • Workshops and Seminars: A range of educational programs for students designed to enhance knowledge and skills in various areas of finance and investment.

Throughout its history, the Cutler Center has achieved numerous milestones, including:

  • State-of-the-Art Facilities: With nearly one-third of undergraduate students pursuing a career in finance and increased demand for the Cutler Center, a newly expanded center in the Babson Commons opened in June 2019. The center boasts a cutting-edge financial lab, equipped with the latest technology and data analytics tools, offering students hands-on experience in real-world financial analysis and trading.
  • Industry Partnerships: Collaboration with leading financial institutions and industry experts has enriched the center’s curriculum and provided students with invaluable networking opportunities and insights. Babson is a member of the CFA Institute’s University Affiliate Program, which promotes ethics-based investment education and acknowledges that Babson’s undergraduate and graduate curricula align with at least 70% of the CFA Common Body of Knowledge. In addition, Babson was an inaugural recipient of Bloomberg’s Experiential Learning Partner program, which is designed to recognize academic institutions that are leaders in experiential learning by integrating Bloomberg terminal exercises into their curricula.
  • Student Success: Graduates of the Cutler Center have gone on to achieve remarkable success in the finance industry, holding key positions in top firms and organizations worldwide. For the past five years, finance is the No. 1 industry employing Babson graduating seniors. Most recently, the Class of 2024 had 32% of its students enter the work force in the finance industry with an average salary of $87,295.
