Five Highlights from Babson’s Thought Leaders

In recent weeks, faculty and leaders have traveled across the world to participate in a conference and support college initiatives, while others have appeared on a podcast and written stories for a local publication.

Supporting the Scale Up Movement

Daniel Isenberg, founding executive director of the Babson Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Project, and Vini Onyemah, associate professor of marketing, participated in programs in Guatemala as part of the Scale Up Movement, which strives to grow companies regardless of their age or sector.

Presenting to Delegates from Around the World

Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship Phillip Kim and Vinod Radhakeesoon, Executive Education’s senior director for business development, attended and led sessions on youth entrepreneurship and disruptive innovation at the 11th annual Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Bahrain. Almost 2,000 delegates from more than 150 countries were present at the conference.

Professors Publish Stories in Harvard Business Review

Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship Eliana Crosina ’05, MBA’11, and Technology, Operations and Information Management professor Thomas Davenport published stories in the Harvard Business Review. Crosina explored how workers bounce back after being laid off, while Davenport, citing a recent survey he collaborated on, argued human resource divisions have become leaders in the use of analytics.

Faculty Director Named President of Finance Organization

Professor Michael Goldstein, faculty director of Babson’s Master of Science in Finance program, was recently named president of the Eastern Finance Association. The organization aims to “foster professional interest in finance through meetings, publications, and other activities.”

Advice on How to Start a Business

Debi Kleiman, executive director for The Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship, appeared in an episode of the VentureFizz Podcast. The show, which typically includes interviews with technology founders and investors in the Boston and New York City areas, covered Kleiman’s career journey, her advice for starting a business, and Babson’s entrepreneurial environment and programs.
