For the second year in a row, Babson College captured the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Presidents Cup.

Powered by three conference championships, one regular-season title, and top-four finishes in eight sports, Babson’s men’s teams earned the NEWMAC’s prestigious all-sports award presented to the top overall men’s and women’s programs in the conference.

“Earning the NEWMAC Presidents Cup award for the second consecutive year speaks volumes to the caliber and quality of Babson’s athletics programs,” Babson President Stephen Spinelli Jr. MBA’92, PhD said. “Our student-athletes, coaches, and training staff serve as ambassadors for our community and continue to show the world the degree of character and competitor that Babson has forged. Our student-athletes are leaders in the classroom and on the playing field, and they embody the spirit of entrepreneurial leadership well. Their success continues to enrich our campus experience.”

The Presidents Cup is determined using a weighted points system based on the order of finish during regular-season and tournament competition. The Beavers recorded a department-record 10.02 points, outpacing WPI (9.59 points) and MIT (9.17).

Babson’s women’s programs—with a pair of regular-season and tournament championships—finished third in the Presidents Cup standings with a department-record 8.97 points, trailing only MIT (11.27) and Springfield College (9.13).

“I am extremely proud of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff on another successful season,” said Mike Lynch, the Babson Pamela P. and Brian M. Barefoot Associate Vice President for Athletics and Athletics Advancement. “We are continually striving for conference, regional, and national success, and winning the Presidents Cup for the second consecutive year is a great achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone in our department.”
