PHOTOS: Family, Friends, and Feel-Good Moments Highlight Back to Babson 2021
Babson College alumni and friends from near and far reunited this weekend for the first community-wide gathering in two years.
On a picturesque, blue-sky weekend, hundreds of alumni, parents, students, and friends returned to the Wellesley campus for Back to Babson—a Friends-themed event that even included a Babson-green couch, something seemingly out of the sitcom’s Central Perk cafe, plopped in front of the Babson World Globe.
The campus especially roared with activity Saturday with the community congregating at the upper fields for food, kids activities, and reminiscing, as the field hockey team and the women’s and men’s soccer teams competed nearby. Roger, Babson’s community resource dog, also hosted several of his golden retriever friends. (All attendees 12 and over were required to show proof of vaccination.)
The day also featured the Cruickshank Race for Shelter 5K, the Volunteer Leadership Awards celebration, and several affinity group gatherings, including LGBTQ+ and the Posse Scholars, as well as the Babson Black Alumni Alliance, which held a BBQ at the home of Lawrence P. Ward, vice president and dean of campus life. There also were several milestone reunion celebrations, including the 25th anniversary of the Babson Honors Program and the 20th anniversary of eTower.
Back to Babson kicked off on Friday with the College honoring a part of its history, as the Half-Century Club held its luncheon and induction ceremony, followed by a campus trolley tour.
