Unscripted Moment: Club Fair Blur

An overview of the fair with students in a blur as the move around
Listen

The Babson College campus is packed with memorable and unexpected moments, which we love to capture and share. In this occasional series, Unscripted Moment, our staff photographer Nic Czarnecki and others share the story behind a recent favorite photo.

I was photographing the annual Student Club Fair—the event by the Office of Student Engagement where students could interact with more than 100 undergraduate clubs and organizations—earlier this month at the Len Green Recreation and Athletics Complex. Watching the students pass through the aisles of tables reminded me of water flowing down a stream. I imagined a long exposure image of moving water and wanted to see it I could re-create this technique at the Club Fair. So, I stood above the crowd and set my exposure time for 2.5 seconds. I rested my camera on the railing and hoped for the best! I loved the chance to try a new technique when photographing an event I’ve covered before.
