These Are Some of the Most Unique Things I’ve Learned in the Babson Classroom
It’s never “just business” at Babson College. From liberal arts and sciences, to experiential learning, and humanities, Babson students are immersed in a one-of-a-kind curriculum that sets them up for success, no matter what industry they enter.
Here, Ninda Kepakisan ’28 shares five of the most unique things she has learned during her time at Babson.
1. How to Start a Venture
“First-years become founders in Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship. Your business plan is a real venture with actual customers, revenue, and lessons you won’t find anywhere else.”
2. How Science Intersects with Business
“And, yes, you’re at a business school, but you won’t skip science. Natural Science and Technology brings together labs, experiments, and real discovery, because the best entrepreneurs understand how the world works.”
3. How to Be Tech Savvy in an AI World
“We did everything from designing apps to working with AI tools and writing simple Python programs in Digital Technologies for Entrepreneurs. The course builds digital fluency while helping students think critically about how new technologies shape innovation.”
4. How to Be an Expert in Financial Literacy
“In Principles of Finance, students do more than learn formulas: They practice making decisions in context. We learned how firms raise capital and create value, and how those same concepts are linked to financial literacy in everyday life.”
5. How to Tackle Challenges Facing a Real Company
“Finally, there’s Management Consulting Field Experience, where you become a consultant for real companies. Tackle their actual challenges, build solutions, deliver work, and build relationships.”
