Competing Class of 2022 Student-Athletes Enjoy Special Commencement Ceremony

While members of the Class of 2022 were celebrating Commencement on Saturday, six graduating student-athletes were still competing on the diamond. The College held a special Commencement ceremony Monday at Glavin Family Chapel to recognize their graduation.

The ceremony honored graduating members of the Babson softball team: Isabel Aguilar ’22, Cara Harnick ’22, Audrey LaBouliere ’22, Logan MacDonald ’22, Abrianna Natoli ’22, and Lauren Civello ’21, MSBA’22.

The softball team competed this past weekend in the Geneseo (N.Y.) Regional of the NCAA tournament—the second consecutive and sixth tournament appearance in program history. The Beavers, who entered the regional ranked No. 23, defeated Stevens Institute of Technology, 3-2, in their opening game Friday. LaBouliere drew a two-out, bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning for Babson’s first walk-off victory in the NCAA tournament.

On Saturday, Babson lost, 3-1, to Mount St. Joseph University before beating Sevens again, 9-3, to extend the season. On Sunday, for the regional championship, Babson defeated Mount St. Joseph, 4-2, in the first game, but lost, 5-3, in the finale. The Beavers finished the season with a 38-10 record, matching the single-season program record with 38 wins.
