Babson Launches Foundations of AI Badge for Students

Listen

Babson College is further empowering students to understand and embrace artificial intelligence with the launch of its Foundations of AI Badge.

The badge, which is being offered complimentary to all students courtesy of the new C. Dean Metropoulos Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship, will be awarded to students who demonstrate an understanding and experience with the challenges and opportunities of AI with an entrepreneurial mindset. They will increase their knowledge of the role of AI in business and society, as well as how to leverage AI tools to support their learning, new ventures, and their careers.

The digital credential, which students can pursue at their own pace, can be displayed on students’ résumés and LinkedIn profiles to highlight their proficiency. More than 150 students already have taken advantage of the opportunity.

“Babson students have proven to be leaders in integrating AI into their entrepreneurial journeys,” Babson President Stephen Spinelli Jr. ’92, PhD said. “This resource—and the College’s broader embrace of AI—will ensure our students are future-ready and nimble in their approach to new technologies.

“I look forward to hearing how our undergraduates, graduates, and lifelong learners will take advantage of this complimentary credential as proof of their leadership in this space.”

The Foundations of AI opportunity examines important aspects of AI within the framework of entrepreneurial leadership and validates students’ comprehension of the impact of AI. Additional requirements include practical application of AI tools to address real-world problems and demonstrated knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI and its significant impact on society.

The Foundations of AI Badge is one of many ways Babson is empowering students to harness technology’s potential to transform ideas into reality, pairing it with an entrepreneurial mindset to drive meaningful change.
