Babson Athletics Ready to Rise for Barefoot Athletics Challenge March 2–4

Listen

Babson College’s varsity athletics teams always appreciate a good competition. This year, they have a special challenge to stir their competitive streaks. The 13th annual Barefoot Athletics Challenge is March 2–4 this year, asking teams to “Beat Their Best” from past Challenges.

The Barefoot Challenge encourages alumni athletes, parents of current student-athletes, and Babson superfans to support the College’s athletics program and student-athletes. The funds raised directly impact Babson’s student-athletes and the 23 varsity programs by providing for team travel, new training equipment and technology, assistant coach positions, leadership development, and mental health resources for student-athletes.

The Barefoot Athletics Challenge—initially funded by former Babson President Brian Barefoot ’66, H’09, P’01 and Pamela Barefoot P’01—is the signature fundraising event for Babson Athletics. Over the past 12 years, more than 12,000 Babson Athletics supporters have contributed to the Barefoot Challenge, raising more than $2 million. The College has awarded more than $100,000 in prize money.

ELEVATING EXCELLENCE: Make a gift to support the Barefoot Athletics Challenge, March 2–4

During the Challenge, the men’s and women’s athletics teams—which include about one-quarter of the College’s undergraduate population—will compete to “Beat Their Best” to help unlock $15,000 in challenge funds, and the team with the highest percentage increase over their best donor count from prior years will receive an additional $7,500 in challenge funds.

Babson community members can participate in one of three ways: make a gift to count toward a specific program’s totals, be a team advocate and encourage others to participate, or offer a fundraising match or challenge to the program of your choice.
