3 Reasons to Celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week
In November, leaders, entrepreneurs, and startup champions from around the world will gather together to encourage and inspire action.
Powered by the Kauffman Foundation, Global Entrepreneurship Week is a worldwide celebration of the innovators, the entrepreneurs, and the change makers who launch startups, bring their ideas to life, and deliver social and economic value. Entrepreneurs are the ones who will solve the world’s most pressing problems, and the Blank Center is thrilled to celebrate them at Babson from November 8–15 for many reasons:
Entrepreneurs innovate.
Entrepreneurs create and iterate. But, to do so in a meaningful way, it’s so important to have access to expertise.
During Global Entrepreneurship Week, there are so many opportunities to receive critical feedback and to be inspired to take action. If you’re a female founder, consider signing up for the Golden Seeds funding presentation and office hours. And, for all entrepreneurs, Babson Alumni Supporting Entrepreneurs (BASE) Consultants will be offering office hours to give you feedback for any stage or aspect of your business.
Entrepreneurs turn ideas into reality.
Entrepreneurs are motivated, driven individuals who are passionate about bringing their ideas to life. Hear from some of these very people, as student and alumni entrepreneurs take the stage to pitch their business ideas at Rocket Pitch on Thursday, November 8.
The entrepreneurial journey is never a straight line. We are so inspired by the perseverance of world class entrepreneurs, such as Sara Blakely (founder of Spanx), Jesse Itzler (co-founder of Marquis Jet), and the late Roger Enrico ’65, H’86, that we are inducting them into Babson’s Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs® on Thursday, November 15.
Entrepreneurs create impact.
Entrepreneurs make a difference. We are fortunate to have entrepreneurial centers here on campus that provide forums to dive into tough issues and resources to activate change. Hear from futurist and strategist Craig Wing MBA’10 of FutureWorld at the Lewis Institute’s Grad Impact Hour, and connect with other Babson graduate students and alumni passionate about challenging the status quo. Or, join CWEL for honest and open dialogue about gender parity and inclusion at Men as Allies: The Value Proposition for Equality.
Entrepreneurs imagine, create, mobilize, and lead. They challenge what came before and they conceive a new vision of what could be. Global Entrepreneurship Week is a great celebration of all of this. We hope you will join us and get inspired!
