Babson Undergraduate Admission Questions Asked and Answered for Fall
Babson’s Undergraduate Admission team were hard at work this summer creating a top-notch suite of in-person and online offerings that ensure a seamless Babson experience from start to finish this fall.
Jared Pierce, associate director of admission, and Eric Laboissonniere, assistant director of admission, were on hand this week to field questions on Instagram about this year’s return to campus from an admission perspective. Here is a recap of that conversation.

When will on-site visits be allowed again for campus tours?
The safety and well-being of our community and visitors is our highest priority, we will bring back on-site tours as soon it is safe for all. In the meantime, we are excited to be offering a drive-thru tour narrated by Nicole Johns ’23!

What types of virtual visit resources are being offered for prospective students?
There’s a lot! Resources include on-demand and live information sessions and tours, weekly webinars called the Virtual Campus Visit Series that highlight different aspects of Babson, a virtual guided tour, and, for rising high school seniors, the opportunity to interview virtually with our team.

Do chances for international students decrease for getting accepted due to COVID-19?
International students are an important part of the Babson College community and help enrich the experience for everyone. Chances of admission to the College do not change because of COVID-19.
What was the acceptance rate for the class of 2024?
We received about 6,500 applications and the acceptance rate was 27%.
I will apply for fall next year as a transfer for class of ’24, will I need my SATs?
Yes, we will still be requiring standardized testing for all transfer applicants.
You may provide the SAT/ACT results used to gain admission to your current institution, so you do not need to retake the exam.

How different will the admissions process be next cycle? SAT, essay, activities, etc.
As always, we are fully committed to holistically reviewing all applicants, including academics, extracurriculars, additional essays, and letters of recommendation.
One big change is that Babson will be test optional for this upcoming year for first-year applicants.
Can you talk about Babson’s new test-optional policy for this upcoming year?
Standardized tests are now optional for all new first-year applicants who apply for the 2021–2022 academic year.
Students can decide for themselves whether to submit test scores as part of their application. If you submit test scores, it will be part of your application review. And, if you do not, it will not negatively affect your application.
What is the best way to connect with the Admission Office?
The Undergraduate Admission staff is here to work with prospective students throughout the college search and application process. Each admission counselor is responsible for specific geographic territories.

Will the admission team still be visiting high schools this year?
Unfortunately, most high schools are not allowing in-person visits this fall.
