LaShonda Cooks, along with classmate Jamaal Eversley ’10, will be featured in a joint art exhibition on campus in September. The show, titled “A Coming of Age,” will be held in the Hollister Gallery. LaShonda, whose work draws on the traditions of impressionism and pointillism, will display paintings that focus on the theme of womanhood. Her subjects have ranged from Serena Williams to Frida Kahlo to Zoe Saldana. In 20 to 30 pieces, says LaShonda, she hopes to display a spectrum of female identities.
